DGP sanctions welfare relief  for NoKs of deceased personnel, retired personnel | KNO

Srinagar, July 22 (KNO) : Director General of Police (DGP) J&K Monday sanctioned welfare relief for 29 retired police personnel and Next of Kins (NoKs) of 11 deceased personnel. An amount of rupees 4.84 lakh has been sanctioned out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund in their favour. As per the PHQ order, welfare relief has been sanctioned for the personnel/NOKs of deceased personnel to meet the expenses like self treatment, treatment of spouse or children, repairs of house and marriage of daughters etc. According to a statement issued to KNO, Rupees three lakh sixteen thousand has been sanctioned in favour of twenty five retired Police personnel/NOKs of deceased Police personnel for self treatment/ treatment of dependents suffering from different kind of diseases. Rupees one lakh thirty three thousand have also been sanctioned in favour of twelve families to meet the expenses of their daughters’ marriage. Likewise three persons who are in distress have been provided monetary help to meet their expenses of urgent nature. PHQ has been working for the welfare of retired police personnel and their families. “Martyrs/Retired Police Assistance Cells” have been constituted at all districts and unit levels to resolve the issues related to the families of police martyrs and retired police personnel. Each Assistance Cell is supervised by a gazetted officer with one non-gazetted officer and two lower subordinates as its members.(KNO)
